FAQs
What are your favorite books?
Not in any particular order...
The Once and Future King by T. H. White
The Princess Bride by William Goldman
War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
Artemis Fowl Series by Eoin Colfer
Demian by Hermann Hesse
Mozart: A Life by Maynard Solomon
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry into Values by Robert M. Pirsig
The Power of Myth by Joseph Campbell
Triumphs of Experience by George Eman Vaillant.
I'm currently reading Mona Kasten's Maxton Hall Series, Save Me, Save You, and Save Us, and am eagerly awaiting the official English translations.
What do you listen to when you write?
Even though I love music and have spent most of my life making music, I prefer to write in silence! I find it much easier to focus when there's nothing to distract me in the background. However, my favorite songs/pieces include (but are not limited to) "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" by George Harrison, "Desperado" by the Eagles, all of Mozart's violin concertos, anything by Luke Combs and Blake Shelton, Neil Young's "Heart of Gold", Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 and Piano Concerto No. 2, and tons more!
What are the names of your cats?
Chandler, Joey, and Monica... after my favorite TV show.
Any works in progress?
I'm in finishing up Bross Season 2 and the second book in the Hearts in Tune Series. In addition, I'm working on a historical romance set in the Forbidden Palace. I've been fascinated with Qing Dynasty my whole life, and my first ever attempt at novel writing was in the fifth grade when I decided to write a story in Chinese about the young emperor Kangxi. Though I never ended up finshing the draft, the research that went into it laid the groundwork the romance I'm writing today. It has been so much fun to revisit this fascinating period in history and finish a project that began a couple of decades ago (this time in English), and I can't wait to share the story with you soon.
